Consistency is key imageIn all transparency, this has been a struggle of mine for a long time.  Processes have been delayed and dreams temporarily deferred all because I did not remain consistent.  Each of us have weak spots, but this one can be a detriment to progress and growth.  This is why I’m glad I’m connected to the Father because He knows this about me.  He has a way of placing a blazing fire under me to electrify urgency within me and get it done.  In order to understand why this can be a problem, I had to change my perspective.

Often times we hold things up that we feel are not that important or causing any harm to others.  But what if our lack of commitment did affect the well being of others?  When you think about how your action or lack thereof can directly affect another person, you will begin to think differently about why you must do what you were called to.  As an example, I start and then stop writing this blog.  You don’t even want to know how many or how long I’ve had drafted posts sitting in queue.  Thinking these posts were for me gave me a lackadaisical attitude because I was only concerned about myself.  But flipping my thinking and admitting that I write because I want to encourage and help other people changed my perspective.

Consistency-Perfection Image

Your thought patterns and processes have power. Now that I’ve come to the realization that this blog is bigger than me, I write with a purpose that I have a job to do specifically for the Lord.  As believers we are called to a higher standard and must maintain commitments to our Father and to ourselves that further the kingdom of God.  Whatever you’re holding off and dragging your feet to do, just humble yourself and connect it to how it will further your relationship with God and how it can help others.

1 Corinthians 15:58 -Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Don’t overthink it. Just get it done.  We can work on this together!

Until next time, be blessed and GetUp and GetFit in God!
