I take the train to work (Philadelphia) day in and day out.  Mornings consist of runners and dashers all trying to get to work on time.  In the afternoon, the setting is the same.  Anxious worker bees all trying to get home in time for whatever plans await them.

One particular afternoon I was moving rather swiftly to make it to my train on time.  The only problem was I had this really tall man, like approximately 6’7″ tall man directly in front of me.  Now in this predicament, I’ve learned how to weave around or speed walk my way around individuals that are as slow as snails or are blocking the walkway.  This day was different.  No where to go on the left or right.  I couldn’t even go in the street unless I wanted it all to end that day ( way too much to live for lol).

In that moment, I realized based on this man’s attire and pace he was going to the same place I was.  I also realized that that tall man was like Jesus is to us.  Since I couldn’t see around him, I was confident that he was leading me in the right direction.  When we are faced with various  uncertainties,  it is common to feel that we can’t see our way out.  But in following Jesus, it doesn’t matter what we can’t see because all the while He is leading us to where we are supposed to be and simultaneously protecting us.

It is when we go before Christ that we tend to get off track and lose our way.  We have no reliable guide.  Proverbs 3:5-6 says to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.  Based on God’s word, we are safe when we choose to follow His lead and find rest when we place our trust solely in Him.

He always knows the best route.  For in the end it’s well worth it.
